Kelli L. Milligan is the owner and designer for Renaissance since 1985. She has a BFA from Bellarmine College (now Bellarmine University) plus an Associate degree in Interior Design from Sullivan College’s Interior Design Institute.
Kelli started her career at the Strassel Company, a premier design firm in Louisville since the early 1900’s. Renaissance Interior Design was started after the Strassel Company closed its doors in 1985, to continue on with her then current clients. She still works with many of those clients today. Kelli taught interior design classes for the Interior Design Institute (Division of Sullivan University) for 15 years. She currently teaches design classes for adult continuing education through both U of L and Jefferson County Schools.
Renaissance first opened its doors in the Fincastle Building but quickly moved to and renovated 907 Baxter Avenue as a showroom with a second floor resource room in 1986 where it stayed for 10 years. In 1996 Ken and Kelli purchased 544 Baxter Avenue. After extensive renovations, 544 Baxter is now home to Ken Bader Law Office (husband) and Renaissance by Design/ MLS Estate Sales.
Kelli is very active with the Bellarmine University Women’s Council. She has designed several rooms in their Show Houses and has most recently been in charge of the Show House Boutique. Ms. Milligan is the chairman of the Highland Commerce Guild’s “Bardstown Road Aglow” (going on 18+ years) and is the longest running president for the “Guild”. “Aglow” is still Renaissance’s annual holiday open house.
